The activities of The Debate Club and Speakers’ Forum for the academic year 2016-17 began with the induction of new members to the club. Mr.Muhammaed Farhan from final B.A.Economics was chosen as the secretary of the club. The members of the club were also asked to ensure their participation in the various State and National level Debate/ Extempore competitions held in various colleges. Several members of the Debate Club could come out with outstanding achievements in the various inter-collegiate debate competitions held during the academic year 2016-17. Inter department debate competition was held on 22-09-2017 on the topic “Youth politics In Indian Campuses”. All the teams participated with great spirit and attitude. Department of English bagged first prize and department of Economics got second place..

Devika Panicker from BSc Geology was chosen as the secretary of the club.The new students were given awareness sessions about the activities of the club and. The members of the club were also asked to ensure their participation in the various State and National level Debate/ Extempore competitions held in various colleges. Several members of the Debate Club achieved outstanding results in the various inter-collegiate debate competitions held during the academic year 2017-18. Inter department elocution competition was held on 22-08-2017 on the topic “Threats against Indian Democracy”. Club organised “CHEENIMARACHOD SAMVADAM” (Debate beneath trees in campus) in association with college students union. The program was very exciting for the students and they participated with immense spirit and enthusiasm as different teams..
