MES Ponnani College Zoology Alumni Association (MESPOZAA) was formed in 2012 with the support
and guidance of Prof. Souda Begum, then Head of the Department of Zoology. In the same year,

1) Webinar on ‘Vaccine Strategies Towards Eliminating Covid-19’ on 19 th January 2021. Resource
Person: Dr Mohanan Valiya Veettil, Senior Principal Scientist (F), Institute of Advanced Virology, Life
Sciences Park, Thiruvananthapuram. Dr Mohanan is an alumnus of our department.
2) Alumni Get Together and Farewell to Capt. M.N. Mohamed Koya, Head of the Dept of Zoology on
28 th March 2021. Prof. Koya was honoured with a memento. On this occasion, five students were
also honoured for their achievement in securing admission to PG Programs in Central Universities.
3) Dedicated a Museum Cabinet and Department Door to the Zoology Department on the occasion
of the Get Together on 28 th March 2021.
4) Organized a Webinar on ‘Biological Sciences: Prospects & Opportunities’ on 1 st September 2021.
